In this installment of Under Construction, the fourth in the series, we bring you a sampling of projects underway in the city. Some are nearly finished, like City View Place, a new residential development in Manchester designed by 3 North Architects. Others, including The Current, an infill project in Manchester designed by Hickok Cole, are in their early stages. With many more buildings on the way in Manchester, Scott’s Addition, and other neighborhoods throughout the city, this portfolio of images presents only a glimpse of how Richmond is transforming. The final image in the portfolio shows the Memorial to Enslaved Laborers now under construction at the University of Virginia, designed by Höweler + Yoon Architecture of Boston, reminding us that the transformations occurring in Richmond are happening throughout the region, the state and beyond.
